A Ray Haber Production

One car. Fifteen sensors. Eight branches of physics.

Radar, relativity, quantum noise, electrochemistry. Pick a sensor to fly to it on the true-scale model and run its physics yourself.

    About this project

A physics class project by Ray Haber. It uses one car to explore waves, optics, electromagnetism, mechanics, thermodynamics, electrochemistry and relativity.

    How far to trust this

    • The equations are standard physics, and the Proof panel checks them against known values.
    • Each sensor location is tagged. "Visible on this model" means the hardware can be seen on the 3D mesh. "Typical position" means it is the usual place on similar vehicles and is not confirmed for this car.
    • The labs simplify on purpose. Real radars, crash algorithms and ride controllers are more complex and their tuning is secret, so values such as the airbag threshold and damping ratios are illustrative.
    • Sensor fields in 3D are drawn much shorter than real ranges so they fit on screen. Captions give the true scale.
    • Equipment varies by model year and market.
    • Car figures come from CarsGuide and Encycarpedia. Listings differ slightly, so check the official data for your exact car.
